Shining bright again in 2025

Ending 2024: A Year That Dimmed Our Bulbs but Did Not Extinguish Them

As we stand at the close of 2024, we reflect on a year that tested us in ways we could never have imagined. Like lightbulbs struggling with a weak connection, our glow may have dimmed at times. The weight of challenges—unexpected setbacks, personal struggles, and moments of doubt—left us feeling worn and flickering. We’ve taken a few knocks, and it’s okay to acknowledge the toll they’ve taken.

But here, at the threshold of a new year, we are reminded that even a dim light is still light. And more importantly, we serve a God who specializes in restoration. His promise to us is clear: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

This promise, however, is not passive—it calls for action from our side. To activate this divine restoration, we must realign ourselves with Him. Here are the steps we can take as we prepare for 2025:

1. Reconnect with the Source
Just as a lightbulb needs a reliable power source, we need to stay connected to God through prayer, reading His Word, and worship. Let’s prioritize our relationship with Him above all else.

2. Remove the Obstructions
Sometimes, the knocks we take leave debris in our hearts—bitterness, fear, or doubt. Let’s surrender these to God, allowing Him to heal and cleanse us. This will enable His light to shine unhindered through us.

3. Step Out in Faith
God’s promises are activated by faith. Let’s step into 2025 with boldness, trusting Him to work in and through us, even when the path ahead seems unclear.

4. Serve Others with Your Light
A light that shines only for itself is wasted. Let’s use the experiences and strength we’ve gained to illuminate the paths of those around us. When we serve, we reflect God’s love, and our light grows brighter.

As we look forward to 2025, let us trust God to restore not just what was lost but to increase our capacity to shine. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). This coming year, may we shine with renewed strength, clarity, and purpose, knowing that the trials of 2024 have only refined us to glow brighter than ever before.

Here’s to a 2025 filled with His light and our action. Together, we will illuminate the world once again.
